Mondays: 1:45pm How to Learn By Ear (formerly Beginner By Ear)
Most fiddle workshops and camps teach exclusively by ear. Don’t miss out on all they have to offer! Learning by ear can be challenging at first - our class will build your confidence and ability. This summer we will be learning tunes commonly played at Maine Fiddle Camp.
Mondays: 5:30pm Intermediate/Advanced Learn an Irish Tune 1 hour
Eash week we will learn a new Irish Tune. New tunes will be incorporated into the call list for the Celtic Jam.
Mondays: 6:30pm Celtic Jam 1 hour 30 minutes
A weekly summer jam of Celtic tunes. Play from “Professor Ludwig’s Celtic Collection” or surprise us with a new one. All acoustic instruments welcome.
Tuesdays: 11:00am Music Lovers Dream 1 hour 15 min.
A string ensemble for intermediate level music readers. Violin, Flute, Viola and Cello players welcome. Baroque to Beatles, Classical to corny, Traditional fiddle tune arrangements, duets, trios and quartets.
Tuesdays: 6:45pm Learn New Tunes from the Beginners Jam Collection 1 hour 15 min.
This introductory level class will teach you the tunes found in the Berkshire Strings Beginner Jam Collection. Receive coaching on posture and technique, practice bowing patterns and hear the history of the new tune. Each week a new tune will be taught with some time for reviewing previous material.
Wednesdays: 1:45pm Novice/Intermediate Repertoire Builder: OldTime Tunes! 1 hour
(Formerly Advancing Beginners, same level) Strengthen your repertoire with a structured practice list and weekly instruction to address technique and style elements. We will be focusing on Old Time tunes this summer! Music and Code allowed for your convenience. Drop-ins welcome with notice by noon.
