Jam Sessions Workshops Tune Sessions
Jam sessions are for all acoustic instruments; we'll play from tunes on our posted set lists and participant's requests; we will attempt to include fiddle music from a wide variety of styles; sheet music with chords is available for purchase.
Workshops will be organized according to instrument groups and interest of participants; potential topics include chord accompaniments, fingerpicking, chopping, ornamentation or improvisation.
Tune Sessions Learn new tunes in the traditional "by ear" style
The Workshop Schedule
9:00am - 9:45am Morning Campfire - Monday through Friday - start your day off with song: a capella rounds, shanties, ballads and work songs will get your day going with a smile.
4:00pm - 5:00pm Community Jam - Monday through Thursday - this session inspired our Berkshire Strings Jam gatherings. This jam is mixed age, all kinds of instruments and a medium pace. Perfect warm up for the tune sessions, a chance for parents to get in the game, and a ton of fun for all.
5:15 - 6:30pm Tune Sessions - Monday through Wednesday - for all levels of fiddle players, instrument session to learn new tunes.
6:30 - 7:30pm Dinner Break - bring a picnic and share a meal with other workshop participants
7:30 - 9:00pm Workshops - Monday through Wednesday - see poster for workshop details. Each night is different, each night is a chance to work with our inspired and talented staff.
7:30pm THURSDAY July 13th - Staff Concert at Dewey Hall, Sheffield
Performing their own award winning compositions, the traditional fiddle tunes that continue to inspire them, and the beautiful arrangements that have developed during their week together. This concert is a benefit for the Youth Program Scholarship Fund.
5:30pm FRIDAY July 14th - Concert for the Community FREE - the Youth groups and Adult & Advanced Workshops will share their new tunes on the Bandstand Stage at French Park. Rain or shine, come prepared for both!
